Ophiopogon japonicus, Isole di Brissago Botanic Garden, Ticino, Switzerland, late October. A clump-forming, rhizomatous, evergreen perennial grass with narrowly linear, rigid, curved, dark green leaves and, in summer, short racemes of small, bell-shaped, sometimes purple-flushed, white flowers followed by spherical, blue-black fruit. Common names include Mondo grass, Monkey grass, and Dwarf lilyturf.
