Fig 'Rouge de Bordeaux', late September. In temperate regions, this is one solely for the sunniest, most sheltered of sites or for growing under glass. Often claimed to be the best-tasting fig of them all, the small to medium-sized fruits have purple skins, red flesh, and a wonderfully rich, aromatic flavour.
