Aster × frikartii 'Wunder von Stäfa', mid August. Herbaceous perennial with dark foliage and light violet, yellow-centred flowers from August to October. Bred from a cross between A. amellus x A thomsonii by the Swiss nurseryman Carl Ludwig Frikart at his nursery at Stafa, it is slightly shorter than 'Mönch' and does not therefore need staking.
