Apple fruitlets attacked by apple sawfly larvae, mid June. Creamy white grubs of the apple sawfly (Hoplocampa testudinea) bore into young fruitlets in May and June, and create holes that they fill with brown frass or excrement. Usually, fruitlets that have been attacked fall to the ground in the June drop.
