Rosa gallica 'Versicolor' (syn. Rosa mundi), late May. A small shrub of bushy, compact habit, with mid-green leaves and semi-double flowers to 7cm in width, blush-pink striped and spotted with crimson. Said to be named after Fair Rosamund, mistress of Henry II in the 12th century.
