Fragrant pale pink flowers of the Himalayan evergreen shrub Daphne bholua, late March. It flowers between early December and March. The species originates in the cool temperate forests of the eastern Himalayas at heights of 2,250-3,250m and will grow only on acid soils. The name derives from the vernacular "Bholu Swa" used by the Newar people of central Nepal.
