Acaena saccaticupula 'Blue Haze', late May. New Zealand Burr, an alpine plant forming a low mat of blue, fern-like leaves, above which greenish flowers are borne on short stems in summer. The spherical flower-heads are followed by dark red burrs, with pinkish-red spines in mid-summer.
