Corylopsis glabrescens var. gotoana, mid March. Commonly known as fragrant winter hazel, a deciduous flowering shrub originally from Japan. It features drooping clusters (hairless racemes to 1.5in long) of fragrant pale yellow flowers in late winter to early spring before the foliage emerges.
