Apple 'Newton Wonder', late July. An ancient espalier tree, now hollowed out in the centre, Standen House, Sussex. 'Newton Wonder' was a popular, late-flowering English culinary apple. Originally discovered in about 1870 at King's Newton in Derbyshire.
