Gomphostigma virgatum, early August. Native to the banks of rivers and watercourses throughout South Africa, including Zimbabwe, common names include River star, Otterbush, and Besembossie. A perennial shrub with silver leaves on slender branches with white scented flowers. Suitable for ponds, stream margins and bog-gardens. Height: up to 250 cm. Flowering time: July-September.
