"Tracks" made by the apple leaf miner. Small moths lay their eggs underneath young leaves in spring. Tiny caterpillars hatch and feed inside the leaves, tunnelling their way through "mines" in the leaf tissue, leaving long, winding trails that become gradually wider until they exit.
